INDIAN HILLS HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION MEETING
MAY 18TH, 2008
Members in Attendance:
Lee Vunkannon, Bill Shurett, Micki Ferguson, Lorene Colvin, Ashley Eakes, Mary Crum, Roger Huffman
The third meeting of the year began at 4 pm, May 18th, 2008.
Lee discussed dumping on the vacant Homeowner’s lots. Apparently someone dumped the remains of a septic tank and concrete on the back part of one of the lots. It was not easy to see from the street and had been there for at least 6 months. Someone contacted the sheriff’s department about it and the Association was given a warning citation stating that it had to be removed within 14 days. The debris has been removed and a “no dumping” sign will be posted on the lots. The Board was also informed of a homeowner that has been seen cutting down pine trees on the Association lots.
A discussion was held about enforcing the Association covenants. It was decided that a copy of the covenants would be distributed to each homeowner along with a questionnaire asking their opinion about upholding the covenants. Mary will write up the questionnaire and make copies of the covenants. A copy of the covenants will also be given to each real estate agency that has rental homes in the neighborhood.
Roger reported that the Association account balance is $4, 800. He has sent overdue notices to those with delinquent homeowners dues. Approx. 45 homeowners are currently overdue.
Sean Reid is stepping down from the Grounds position on the Board. Mary will oversee the planting/maintenance of the islands. Lee is going to talk to Scott Ramsey about taking over the electrical portion of the Grounds position.
Ashley said a fall chili cook-off/pot luck dinner is being planned for the fall. She wants to have lots of kid’s activities. Mary suggested that she contact Pace Water to see if we can schedule a time to have the event in the Reserve.
Micki said that Woodbine Cleaners was broken into last week.
A discussion was held about planting/landscaping for the front islands. The plan is to have more evergreen plants that will need minimal care and less seasonal flowers. Mary will oversee the islands and plantings.
The meeting concluded at 5:30 pm.
The next board meeting is scheduled for July 20th, 2008 at 4 pm.
